Clara and I stopped by the store one day and found that baby plants were selling for only $1.50 each! We couldn't pass up such a deal and were itching to add some greenery to our back porch and some produce to our bellies.
The tomatoes are reaching for the sky, the strawberries are blooming, but the basil is looking a little bit sad. I've been contemplating a transfer to the sunny patch, but am fearful that the poor plant will just drop dead. (Wish us luck!)
Here's to a good harvest!
love the pic of baby with the bloom!
ReplyDeleteand just fyi, since i once had a successful window-box crop of basil, its supposed to be droopy, and if you keep it in the partial shade that's best, because if it goes into bloom (like it would faster in more direct sunlight) it doesn't taste as good...
