Take Us Out to the Ball Game

Last night, the interns and analysts had the pleasure of attending a Diamondbacks game.  It was a lot of fun!  I especially love riding the light rail all the way to Phoenix.  It reminds me of Europe a little bit.

It was a good night, Husband got me ColdStone (even though he didn't want it), and we were only slightly annoyed by a few of the drunken baseball fans.

Adios State Capitol

Last week of the internship.  The Minority Leader, me with my award, and the Speaker of the House.

Woo!

Shakira showed up in opposition to SB 1070.
See the guy in stripes?  Look to the right of his hand.  She's blonde.

SB 1070 Becomes Law

Governor Brewer signed the bill into law at 1:30.  We were released from work early to avoid any potential violence.  Luckily, the majority of protestors remained peaceful.

More Protesting

I wish I could show you some better pictures, but I'm not allowed to get too close to policital rallies and the like.  (I have no political stance from January-May, remember?)  There are tons of people, news crews, swat teams, police, and even snipers.

These are protestors fighting against SB 1070, the immigration bill.  If it's not vetoed before Saturday, it will become law.  Among other things, the bill makes it a crime for an illegal to be in Arizona, it requires all noncitizens to carry ID cards, and it makes it a crime to hire or transport illegal aliens.

This is one of the biggest immigration bills to ever come out of a US state.

More protestors are expected to be at the Capitol in the next few days.  At 6:00 tonight, there will be a whole group from California!

Little Moment in Time

Protest outside the State Capitol.  People are going crazy over SB 1070 (the immigration bill), which will most likely become law in five days.

Also... nine people got arrested for chaining themselves to the old capitol building!  Crazy.

Little Work Space

My supervisor told me that I needed a little bit of life around my desk.  I guess it was looking rather dreary.  Here's what I came up with:

Fun notes from co-workers.  By me.

The ones I love.  By me.

A Nice Husband

…makes me lunch to take to work.

He is the sweetest husband ever! He packed me a sandwich, apple, swiss roll, fruit snack, and cheese/crackers (he even cut the cheese up into little squares!).

It was the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen.

I'm a lucky girl with a full belly.  By me.
