Walker Action in the Rain

I'm the mom that lets her baby crawl around in the dirt, go to the grocery store in a diaper, and snack on Otter Pops, so logically, I'm also the mother that lets her baby play in the rain.

But really, have you ever seen a baby that liked the rain so much?!
And don't even get me started on that circus animal cookie in her mouth...

Down Under (the city)

I bet you didn't know that we took a trip to Seattle.
And our first stop (after visiting our family and their band new baby, of course) was Pike's Market.

My BIL recommended that we seek out a little donut cart.
The little cart was one of the first things we saw and we came back to it after exploring the maze that is Pike's Market.

We also took a trip to the Gum Wall, which was equal parts cool and disgusting.

We finished our day off in Pioneer Square, the oldest part of Seattle.
We walked around below the sidewalks and saw the old city.

It was a day full of food:  little donuts, clam chowder, fish and chips, Starbucks, and caramel apples.

But we couldn't stop dreaming about cinnamon-sugar donuts.

Little Black Hat

One day, at around 4:30, a storm came out of nowhere.  Being towards the top of a skyscraper, I could see the clouds rushing by and the sheets of raining cutting through the sky.  When the window panes started to vibrate, I got a little bit nervous.

My co-workers weren't worried, though.  Apparently, they have felt the building swaying before!!

No thanks.

I love Arizona rain.
It's so dramatic.

On one hand, I wish we had more of it, but on the other, I think that the lack of rain makes me appreciate it more when it does come.

Anyways, I was happy to be wearing my little black hat.  It's been sitting on my shelf for a year, but I knew it would come in handy some day.  It's just too darn cute.

Singing in the Rain

While snuggling in bed and watching My Name is Earl, Husband and I suddenly heard raindrops!  We opened our blinds to see this:

The rain was pounding down!
That's one thing I love about Arizona summers: the monsoons.
So, like any other crazy person would do, I grabbed my umbrella and headed out.
Husband settled onto the couch and watched me gallivant outside.

Deciding whether to step off of the porch...

Spotting a puddle that looks splash-worthy, but feeling slightly immature...

Hello Id, goodbye Ego.

After months of 100+ days and greedy rainclouds, this was the moment I'd been waiting for!  I usually don't splash about, but our lack of a backyard means you're either inside or outside.

I chose outside.

According to the news, the sky dumped a half-inch of rain in less than an hour.  Apparently, as you can tell from the palm tree above, it was raining sideways!
